Compensating for CO2 - How we can avoid the production of CO2 and other greenhouse gases at alesco

Film production without the creation of any CO2 or other greenhouse gases is unfortunately still completely unthinkable and will also not be possible in the next few years - not until we all start driving electric cars and convert our energy production completely to water, wind and solar energy.

However, because we are not satisfied with the available options for the reduction of CO2 emissions, we at alesco decided to go a step further and have our company’s emissions assessed in detail. The result is called a CO2 footprint. This allows us to calculate precisely how much CO2 is released during the production of one kilogram of film.

In order to neutralise this released CO2, the recognised system of energy reduction certificates has been growing in popularity over the past few years. By purchasing these certificates, alesco supports selected climate protection projects around the world. These projects reduce and neutralise CO2 emissions elsewhere, for instance, by replacing coal power plants with wind farms.
